The Big Give Christmas Challenge 2022 is here!
We are proud to be participating in The Big Give Christmas Challenge again this year.
From 29 November – 6 December, every donation is MATCHED, so every donation will be DOUBLED, which will make a huge difference for our charity!
A £5 donation means £10 to us – at no extra cost to our wonderful supporters!
This week we are asking people to get involved in the challenge and spread the word – if we reach our donation target of £4,500, that will give us £9,000 towards helping us expand our outreach programme to support more vulnerable adults living with mental illness.
So on day one of this year’s challenge, we wanted to remind you why we are here and why support is needed more than ever:
Hammersley Homes was established in 2018, to provide a nationwide network of homes for life, for vulnerable adults who suffer from enduring mental illnesses.
Our goal is to raise awareness of debilitating mental illnesses and their effects on sufferers and their families; especially the inadequate provision of care and support and the terrible consequences of this.
Why? Because too many people in prison having committed crimes due to a psychotic episode, effectively being punished for having an illness; too many revolving door patients on mental health wards; too many ageing carers with grown-up children still living with them, worrying about what would happen to their loved ones when they die. How? By raising awareness of our charity, and our aims, we can implement our plans to provide some solutions to these problems. To do this we will work to raise funds for our projects.
