Mozart to be performed in Lymington garden in support of Hammersley Homes

ONE of Mozart’s best loved operas will be performed in the gardens of a Lymington home on Tuesday 18th August.
The special event in support of the local charity Hammersley Homes invites music lovers to enjoy an evening of opera in the substantial grounds of Kingfishers on Normandy Lane.

The acclaimed Scherzo Ensemble performing Mozart’s comic masterpiece Così fan tutte – The Essential Cut against the stunning backdrop of the Solent.
Combining beautiful music with comedy, romance and mistaken identities, the specially adapted production brings together the highlights of Mozart’s opera in an accessible format suitable for both experienced opera-goers and those trying opera for the first time.
A spokesperson for Scherzo Ensemble said: “Scherzo Ensemble is a professional development platform for emerging artists, primarily classical singers. We deliver high-quality paid performance and training projects for early-career artists, offering them opportunities to develop their experience, understanding, and professional networks.”

Visitors are encouraged to arrive early, bring a picnic and enjoy the gardens and panoramic views across the water before the performance begins at 6.15pm.
The evening is being staged in support of Hammersley Homes, which provides specialist support and training for adults living with enduring mental illness.
Profits from the event will go towards the charity’s work helping people create safe and supportive lives and providing the long-term assistance they need to thrive.
Scherzo Ensemble, founded by Matthew O’Keefe in 2015 while studying music at King’s College London, is dedicated to supporting emerging classical singers through paid performance opportunities, training and professional development.
The garden performance will therefore offer not only an unusual opportunity to experience live opera in a beautiful local setting, but also the chance to support both the charity and the next generation of classical performers.
Tickets cost £40 and advance booking is essential, with numbers limited. Gates open at 5pm, with the performance starting at 6.15pm.
