Kingfishers
Music Weekend

Saturday 20 & Sunday 21 June 2026

A weekend of exceptional live music in one of Hampshire's most beautiful garden settings...

Each summer, the stunning gardens in the grounds of Amanda Mann’s beautiful home are opened up to the public for one unique and very special weekend of music and culture in order to raise money for worthy causes. Our generous hostess has created a truly amazing annual fundraising event, that is as much about connection as it is about music.

This year, the Sunday event happens to fall on Father’s Day, and what better way to celebrate than to come and enjoy an afternoon of live New Orleans rhythm and blues in a beautiful garden, with the people who matter most?

The Kingfisher’s Music Weekend has become one of the most warmly anticipated events in the Hampshire calendar – an opportunity to share something joyful with friends and family, whilst helping to fund the very necessary work and services that enhance the lives of people suffering with mental health challenges. This year, Amanda has generously chosen to again support us – Hammersley Homes – with the addition of another amazing local charity working in the mental health arena – the Coda Music & Arts Trust.

Line-up:

Saturday 20th June: An evening of Opera – doors 4:30pm, performance from 7pm.

Sunday 21st June (Father’s Day): Rhythm & Blues from The Cosimo Matassa Project – doors 12:30pm, performance from 3pm.

Bring a picnic, a blanket or chair and good company – and settle in for an evening you won’t forget. Please do bring layers for evening temperatures.

Ellie Laugharne, Soprano

Ellie Laugharne studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and went on to win the 2011 Musicians Benevolent Fund Maggie Teyte Prize and Miriam Licette Scholarship, performing a recital in the Crush Room at the Royal Opera House. She has been a Jerwood Young Artist at Glyndebourne Festival, an Associate Artist for Opera North and a Company Artist for The Mozartists.

Come and experience a soprano of exceptional warmth and artistry in the beautiful gardens of Kingfishers. An evening to savour.

Hanna Hipp, Mezzo-soprano

Hanna Hipp’s rich and impassioned voice has taken her to opera houses around the world. Her recent roles include a critically acclaimed portrayal of Offred in The Handmaid’s Tale at the Royal Danish Theatre, Der Komponist in Ariadne auf Naxos at Glyndebourne Festival Opera and Opera North, Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte at Seattle Opera and English National Opera, and Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro with the Royal Ballet and Opera at Covent Garden.

Come and hear one of the most compelling mezzo-sopranos performing today — in a setting as beautiful as any opera house she has graced.

Mark Stone, Baritone

Mark Stone is an acclaimed English helden baritone, particularly celebrated for his Wagnerian roles. He has performed at the Hamburgische Staatsoper, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Santa Fe Opera and Opera Philadelphia, among many others, and will make his debut as Klingsor for Hamburgische Staatsoper and in the title role of Der fliegende Hollander for Trondheim Symfoniorkester.

Come and experience a Wagnerian baritone of international standing in the intimate surroundings of a Hampshire garden. Unforgettable.

Colin Judson, Tenor

A regular soloist at some of Europe’s most prestigious opera houses — including the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Glyndebourne Festival Opera, Opera de Paris, Teatro dell’Opera in Rome and English National Opera — Colin Judson is widely regarded as one of the most sought-after character tenors of his generation.

Come and hear one of the most sought-after character tenors of his generation in an intimate outdoor setting this June — a genuinely rare opportunity.

Richard Black, Piano

Richard Black is one of the most experienced and versatile accompanists working in British opera today. A familiar presence at all of London’s leading conservatoires and the accompanist of choice for several of London’s leading opera-singer agents, he has worked for dozens of opera companies on productions old and new, and has accompanied over 1,000 songs and several hundred opera arias across a remarkable career.

Richard will be accompanying all four soloists on the evening — bringing his remarkable musicianship and years of experience to every moment of the programme.

The Cosimo Matassa Project

Six of London’s finest session musicians, brought together by a love for the original New Orleans R&B sound of the 1950s and 1960s. Expect the music of Little Richard, Ray Charles, Fats Domino and more — red-hot horn licks, a grooving double bass and a dance floor that will not stand still.
The Cosimo Matassa Project will be bringing their irresistible sound to Lymington for one night only. Come and join them.

Sunday 21 June is Father’s Day. An evening of live music in a beautiful garden, with great food on site and the people who matter most. Tickets make a wonderful present.
