In order to raise awareness of the many incredible charities in Lymington, we will be attending the New Forest Business Show on Thursday 18th June.

Our community is full of so many amazing groups of people who are working for vital issues and needs.   There are signs of them all around. We pass the food bank donation point on the way out of the store, there are little collection pots in our local shops, and sometimes there are stalls fundraising outside buildings.   But many of them go unnoticed.   The online meetings reading to children, the phone calls ringing the vulnerable, the toddler group in the community centre ….

Every one of these are run by charities, some without buildings, run from homes, some with very little council or community funding, and many without paid staff. Churches are charities, community centres are charities, many museums are charities, some parks are charities, and many of these charities are very small.

With this in mind, Louise, our founder, initiated a group, Local Charities Together, so that local charities can support one another and work together to raise awareness of all the work that goes on locally, so often missed or taken for granted.

On Thursday 18th June, along with PEDALL and New Forest for Ukraine, we will be representing the Local Charities Together group in exhibiting at the New Forest Business Show.   Here we hope to meet many professionals and businesses from in and around the New Forest and thus partner with local businesses to spread the word about the many amazing but often overlooked charities in our community.

The New Forest Business Show is an event organised by the New Forest Business Partnership, taking place at the New Forest Showground, New Park, Brockenhurst, SO42 7QH from 10am to 3pm on Thursday 18th June and is free for visitors to attend.
