Join us on Tuesday 18 August 2026 for a very special fundraising event in support of Hammersley Homes.   Set against the stunning backdrop of the Solent, guests are invited to enjoy an unforgettable outdoor performance of Mozart’s much-loved comic opera Così fan tutte – The Essential Cut, performed by the acclaimed Scherzo Ensemble in the beautiful gardens of Kingfishers in Lymington.

This promises to be a wonderful summer celebration of music, friendship and philanthropy, with all profits from the event helping Hammersley Homes continue its vital work supporting adults living with enduring mental illness.

An evening of world-class opera

Mozart’s Così fan tutte is one of the world’s most entertaining operas, combining beautiful music, humour, romance and mistaken identities.   Presented in ‘The Essential Cut’ format, this specially adapted performance offers all the highlights of the opera in an accessible and engaging production, perfect for both seasoned opera enthusiasts and those discovering opera for the first time.   Performed by the talented Scherzo Ensemble, the evening promises exceptional music in an extraordinary setting. 

Founded by Matthew O’Keeffe in 2015 while studying music at King’s College London, the Scherzo Ensemble is dedicated to supporting emerging classical singers as they take their first steps into the industry. Through high-quality paid performance opportunities and specialist training projects, Scherzo helps early-career artists build experience, expand their professional networks while helping them to develop the confidence needed to establish successful independent careers. By nurturing both artistic excellence and essential professional skills, Scherzo Ensemble plays an important role in developing the next generation of classical music talent.
